Dear Colleagues,
Critical bleeding is a serious complication in trauma and major surgery,
and is the leading cause of potentially preventable death in these
patients. The understanding regarding how the haemostatic system works has
changed considerably over the last decade, and this have had important
implications for both transfusion therapy, surgical, diagnostic and pharmacologic strategies in patients with critical bleeding. Searching for
new monitoring and treatment strategies are warranted.
Internationally renowned experts within the field of anaesthesiology and
intensive care, trauma, hematology and transfusion medicine will
participate in the symposium and give state of the art lectures
concerning the management of critically bleeding patients, and participate
in interactive sessions with challenging case presentations.
